Port Barton Palawan Travel Tour
Today we will go to a famous and well-known tourist destination which is Palawan. A place with many beaches, clear sea water, and beautiful surroundings.
It’s been a year since I’ve been to Palawan, so I thought I’d go here again to explore other places I’ve never been to in the area. I and two of my friends are with me on my vacation.
Our chosen destination is Port Barton Palawan with clean and clear beaches, fine sand and quiet so that you can fully relax on the island.
Port Barton Palawan is a fishing village located in Syene Bay in the municipality of San Vicente Palawan. Ways to forget the problems you can visit an amazing place to relax.
We vacationed here for 2 days so we made the most of it. What we did was land tours and island hopping.
On our land tour we went to Bigaho beach & falls, 100 steps view point and long beach which is the longest white sand beach in the country.
And our island hopping was even more exciting because we got to experience going to Starfish Sand Bar, Wide Reef, Amazing diving and snarling spots, Turtle watching, Maxima Island Paradise with fine white sand beaches and many others.
How to get There
- The easiest way to get to Port Barton is to take a plane from NAIA Airport to Puerto Princesa.
- Take a Van to Port Borton. If you miss the bus/van, you can book a motorcycle online. Just download Backride Palawan to take you right to the terminal (Recaro Van Station San Jose) going to Port Borton
- From Recaro Van Station San Jose take a van going to Port Borton ( Fare 550 each 3 hours van ride)
For those who don’t know that Backride Palawan is like Angkas and Joyride here in Manila. That you can ride and be delivered to the place you want to go in Palawan. You can download it to your phone and enter all the details it asks for and you can use it.
In our 3 hours in the van we arrived at night in Port Borton so we looked for a nearby hotel. What we found to stay for 2 night was the Aquarius Hotel with an average price of $21 per night. It is close to everything.
A great value hotel with a beautiful garden, quiet area and the location is only block away from the beach.
What makes this hotel even better is that it is only 100 meters from the beach and if you walk for 2 minutes, it is very close. They also have free kayaks that you can use when you are swimming.
This hotel is located in Rizal Street, Purok Pag-asa, Port Barton and it’s close to attractions and interesting dining. The room is spacious and comfortable.
Port Barton Palawan Travel Tour
After we booked the hotel, we looked for an Island Hopping tour so we wouldn’t have to worry about the next day.
What we chose was 1,500 pesos each for our island hopping. If you want private, you will only pay 6,000 pesos.
The next morning we took a boat to a famous place in Palawan, it’s a small Sand Bar with lots of Star Fish.
Star Fish Sand Bar
Then we went to a clean and calm sea water where you can see the coral reef below. Here you can go snorkeling and see amazing corals up close.
After snorkeling for a few minutes, we went to Maxima Island. Turtle Spot is also famous here because you can see many turtles quietly swimming under it which is a beautiful sight.
Maxima Island + Turtle Spot
The water you see is blue with a hint of green. Maxima Island is also very beautiful, quiet and with beautiful views.
When you are at Maxima Island, don’t forget to go to its top (view point) to see the amazing view of the sea. It’s not that far down. The climb is tiring because it is quite high.
Actually, guys, we are here at Maxima Island to eat our lunch. Our guides prepared our food for us to go around and then we were called to eat.
The food they prepared was simple but everything was delicious. Feel free to call them for other details (09455097568)
Paradise Island
The next one we went to was Paradise Island which is six minutes from Maxima Island. This Island also has a charming beauty, clear water and fine sand. Although the island is quite rocky, there is a part of it that is just sand. Paradise Island is small, you can walk around here. In the middle of it you will often see big trees and coconut trees that give you a cool breeze.
The island is also very beautiful, the water is blue and when you get off the boat the water is only up to your knees so you won’t be afraid to swim here.
When you arrive here you think the island is a bit dirty because of the sea plants that ended up on the sand due to drifting. But the island is not really dirty, in fact it is very clean and has natural beauty.
Twin Reef
After we explored Paradise Island, we went to another famous place in Palawan, Twin Reef.
It’s also very beautiful here because you can go snorkeling and you can see different types of fish in the sea, it’s beautiful to see.
So many fish are happy to swim with us, it’s fun to watch, under it you can see the beautiful Coral reef.
This is the last of our island hopping and we went home to Port Barton, I think our island hopping ended around 4pm, it’s open hour on the island, there are bars and drinks open.
Since we still had a long time, we first went to the hotel where we were staying, showered and dressed and rested a little. Around 6pm we went out again and looked for something to eat.
Dinner Time
The restaurant we found was Happy Bar just 100 meters from our hotel. It was worth everything we paid here, they have a variety of food that you will surely love. What’s even better here is right next to the sea.
It’s great at the Happy Bar, with songs, drinks and a daily exclusive fire show. There will be many people in the restaurant. What you usually see are foreigners from other countries.
The daily exclusive fire show starts at 8 pm – 10 pm. For other details you better visit their facebook page. ( Port Barton Happy Bar )
Port Barton Palawan Land Tour
The next day we woke up early for our Land Tour, as usual we ate a little first so we wouldn’t be hungry.
What we ate was really local food like tapsilog, longsilog which is actually a breakfast dish. You can also only see it in Port Borton.
For our land tour, we took a tuk tuk motorbike that can hold up to three people. What we paid here was around 1,500 pesos, expensive but very worth it.
So that it will not be difficult to find, I will put the phone number of the driver here. (9661950641)
Bigaho Beach
The first place we went to was Bigaho Beach. Before we got here, we first went through a very bumpy and muddy road, but not all. There is only a part that is really muddy because the road is not paved yet.
Bigaho beach is a large island with fine sand and blue sea water. There is debris such as seaweed that has been washed ashore by the waves.
It’s like an island in Port Barton surrounded by big trees and coconuts. The island is really beautiful, you won’t see any houses or any buildings in the area. There is a natural beauty like an untouched paradise.
Bigaho Falls
After we went to Bigaho Beach, we went to Bigaho falls, here at the falls we will pay an entrance fee of 40 pesos each. The road to the falls is not paved so it is a bit muddy, be careful not to slip.
From the entrance you will walk for 8 minutes to reach an amazing water falls in the area. What you will hear is the force of the water falling from the waterfall.
The water is nice and clean. There are lots of big trees that help keep you warm.If you want to shower, there is a shower/toilet nearby where you can change clothes if you get cold.
Hundred Steps
From the falls, we headed to a well-known tourist spot in the area, the Hundred Steps. Expect muddy and bumpy roads as they are not fully paved.
You will also pay an entrance fee of 20 pesos each. It closes at 6 pm. The only funny thing when we got to the Hundred Steps was that we didn’t see any stairs ahahaha
All we see here is the beautiful view of the island and the ocean. Even if you’re disappointed because you can’t see the stairs, you’ll be amazed at the beauty of the view.
Long Beach
We went to Long Beach which is one of the biggest sand bars in the Philippines. So this island is called Long Beach because it is a long sand bar with fine gray sand. The sand is beautiful, your feet don’t sink when you walk.
It is also surrounded by many large coconut trees which make the island even more beautiful. When we went, there were very few people so we enjoyed it a lot.
Secret Beach
We went to Secret Beach which is only 35 minutes away from Long Beach. The island is also beautiful with many coconut trees. There is white sand and a quiet environment.
Nice and quiet all you can hear is the sound of the waves from the sea. We were here for a while and left immediately. But the Secret Beach promise is good, so don’t forget to visit it.
Bato ni Ningning
Next we went to was Bato ni Ningning, a famous place that is also frequented by tourists. Before you can enter, you will first pay 25 pesos for the entrance fee.
Bato ni Ningning has an alluring beauty. You can see the vast island and ocean below. This place is relaxing, quiet and has a beautiful view.
San Vicente View Point
The last thing we went to was the San Vicente View Point. It has an amazing view and is surrounded by green plants and big trees. The entrance fee here is 25 pesos only.
From the top you can see the long sandbar and wide ocean which is beautiful to look at. It’s relaxing in this area, the breeze is nice and it’s very quiet. It’s nice to hang out here all afternoon because the San Vicente View Point is really relaxing.
From here at the view point, we first went back to the hotel we were staying at to rest and in the evening we enjoyed our friends at the restaurant we went to the night before because the next morning we were going back to Manila.
