The Bilawa Mainit Hot Waterfall
We’re going to another amazing waterfall today, it’s different from all the falls I’ve blogged about. Bilawa Mainit Hot Waterfall also known as Mainit Sulfuric hot spring. I have seen something like this in other countries, but I never thought that there is one here in the country.
I just watched it on YouTube on “SEFTV’s” blog, it just appeared on my phone and I was curious so I opened it. It just took me a while to get here because it’s a bit far and I also have a lot of places to go.
The Bilawa Hot Waterfalls are amazing to look at and take a bath because the water is so hot it feels like your body is being massaged because of the heat.
Although the water is scorching hot, people still flock to this waterfall. Who doesn’t want to visit these unique falls? even though I live far away, I actually went to this place because I really liked it.
How to get there from Metro Manila to Bilawa Hot Waterfall
- Easiest way is to ride a plane. From Ninoy International Airport to Davao City Airport
- From Davao City airport walk a little to the highway and take a bus going to Tagum City ( 90 pesos only 1 half hours travel time )
- From Tagum City Overland Bus Terminal ride a bus going to Nabunturan it cost 20 pesos only get off at Mawab Bus Terminal. Usually the bus stops at different places to pick up passengers. If you don’t know the place, just tell the conductor that you are getting off at Mawab Bus Terminal ( travel time 40 to 1 hour)
- From Mawab find a rented Habal-habal / Single motorcycle that will take you to the falls. (200 pesos 1-2 pax one way only. You can also tell the Halab-habal driver that he can wait for you to take you home but there is an additional fee.
Cheap option
According to my acquaintances who have been to the area, the cheapest and easiest way to go to Bilawa Hot Waterfalls is to take a jeepney bound for Masara and Tagum Bus Terminal.
This will pass by (Main Sulfuric hot spring/Bilawa Hot Waterfalls) but the problem is your travel to the falls takes a long time because they are still waiting for passengers until it is full.
You can make the most of your trip to these falls, it’s relaxing and the scenery around you will be beautiful, it’s like you’re in a jungle with a hidden paradise.
