Manjuyod Sandbar + Dolphin watching
Manjuyod Sandbar is located in North Bais Bay, on the coast of Bais City in Negros Oriental, Philippines. It is often called the (Maldives of the Philippines) because of its clean white sand and clear blue water.
If you dream of going to a place with alluring white sand and blue water then Manjuyod Sandbar is perfect for you.
It has very fine sand, crystal clear water, very fresh ocean air, beautiful corals and a variety of delicious seafood.
We have been to Manjuyod Sandbar only once and it was a worthwhile vacation. When I arrived at the place, I was really amazed by the beauty of the ocean. It’s like you’re in the middle of the sea floating because of its shallow sandbar.
How to Get There
- By airplane – Fly to Dumaguete City from Manila or Cebu. Dumaguete City is the closest major city to Manjuyod Sandbar.
- By Land – From Dumaguete City, take a bus or van to Bais City. The trip typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
- By Boat – Once in Bais City, you can hire a boat from the Canibol or Capiñahan Wharf to take you to the sandbar. Boat rides are usually arranged as part of a tour package.
Since we’ve only been there once, we’re still a bit confused about what we should do to get to the island safely.
Why is it Good to Visit Here
Our vacation at Manjuyod Sandbar was worth it. Our stress from our jobs is gone because it has been replaced by a relaxing place.

According to my sister, Manjuyod Sandbar is one of the best places she has ever been to.
We have different habits because she doesn’t like to wander and I like to travel a lot. I just forced her to go with me because of the stress she was going through.
I asked my sister if she liked the place and she said yes, the place is so beautiful, something attracts you to come back. We also tried many activities on the island which we enjoyed very much.

Kayaking and Paddle boarding are available for rent at the sandbar. You can also explore the nearby islands and sandbars which are very beautiful and if you are tired of walking, you can swim in the crystal clear water.

Even though I have been to many different islands in the Philippines, this is my first time seeing dolphins. They are so beautiful to look at, it’s heartwarming to see how fast they swim and suddenly jump is amazing.

When you want to stay overnight at Manjuyod Sandbar there are a few stilt houses that can be rented for an overnight stay, but they need to be booked in advance.
