How did I achieve being single at the age of 26.

Today we are going to talk about my life, that with the amount of things I have been through, I have learned a lot in life.

From what I have experienced in life, there are many like me who are also experiencing a lot in life. I wrote this so that you can learn a lot in life, for those who are going through right now, I hope you can read it.

How did I achieve being single at the age of 26. And what I went through in life

I will start when I was young.

When I was a child, I experienced the hardships of life, the fact that you can’t eat properly every day because you don’t have anything to eat. My father said that when we were still in the place of my father’s parents, we were not that poor. We eat 3 times a day. My mom gets anxiety that we won’t move to another place, she will go crazy. So my father decided that we should move to the place where my mother grew up, that’s where everything started.

What has our life been like since we moved to my mom’s place.

When we moved to my mom’s place, I was 6 years old, the eldest was 8 years old and the youngest was 4 years old, we were only 3 siblings.

The first thing my mother did when we arrived at my place where she grew up was to enroll us in school, I was in grade 1. I can’t really remember everything, I only remembered a few things at that time.

We lived with our mother’s parents first, at first our grandmother was very kind, she took care of us , she even gave our parents land so that our father could work there, my parents were very happy when they found out that my grandmother would give them land .

What happened when we had land?

When we got land, my dad worked on it right away even though we had just moved. He planted it with rice, he also planted many things such as banana, cassava, and many others. My father’s crops improved, they became lush and had many fruits.

My parents are very happy because they feel that they will be able to harvest a lot of rice because it has grown, my parents already have many plans, what are they going to do with the rice that they will harvest?, what they are thinking is that if they harvest a lot, half of it will be for us to eat and the other half will be sold for the next crop.

When my father’s crop was about to be harvested, our grandmother came to visit. She must have been surprised when she saw my father’s crop growing so well, she didn’t say anything that day.

The next day she talked to my parents that he will take back the land that my father planted, my parents were very surprised by what my grandmother said, my grandmother spoke again saying that she will give it to another of her children my mom said how about my husband crops? he just replied that they would just divide it, isn’t that bad? I did not see my mother cry that day, all I see in her is anger and annoyance. That day, my mother and my grandmother fought a lot.

What happened when they fought?

When they started fighting, many people looked at them, as if they were other people, they didn’t hurt, they just used bad words. my grandma insulted mom she said I let you live in my house and took care of you!! but what did you do you fight me!!! my mom said I respect you as my mom but what did you do to me!!! It’s like you’re fooling us like you were so kind to us when we still had money, when our money was down you suddenly changed!!! what do you think I don’t know from other people that you call my children frogs!!!! I didn’t get mad at you and say bad things about you because I still respect you!!! but it’s different now you stole from us the crops that my husband worked hard for us!!!! Since that day, my grandmother and my mother have not spoken for many years

What happened after they fought?

Since they fought, a lot has changed, mom left my grandmother’s house and moved to another house with the little money she had left. My mom didn’t move to another place, she is still in the place where she grew up, they just moved to another house. My parents are having a hard time doing what they first did, since they were kicked out of the land that my dad planted with rice and when they left my grandmother’s house.

What did my parents do.

What my parents did, is that they still had a little money, they bought a small cow to take care of and raise it well so that it could be sold at a higher price. I don’t remember how much they cost for the small cow, all I know is that the cow they bought was very cute, you know I was a kid then. I was so excited when the little cow came to the house, I told my siblings that I will take care of it, my mom said it’s not possible because I’m still small, the eldest will take care of it first. I’m not sad because I can still see it.

What happened since we bought a small cow?

Ever since we bought the cow, we have had a very hard time in life. Dad found a way so that we could eat. Dad became a construction worker, a farm cleaner, a barber, and many other things that dad did so that we could eat.

when the cow that we took care of reached 4 years, it was like a miracle that came into our lives. One day, mama’s uncle came who she hadn’t seen in a long time. It stayed with us for maybe 6 moths, I can’t remember how long it was. When he was leaving, he told my mom that he wanted to sell his land which is next to my grandmother’s land, my mom asked how much he would sell the land for. That land is 3 Hectares, it is very big, it is the same size as my grandmother’s land.

My uncle said he will sell it to my mom for a cheap price, I don’t know how much it will be as long as it doesn’t reach 20,000php, What my mom did is she sold the cow that we took care of for 4 years, and she sold it for the right price and this is what he paid his uncle.

What happened since we bought the land?

Ever since they bought the land, we still haven’t been able to get out of trouble because you can only reap luck from the land. You have to wait six months before you can harvest your crops, sometimes even when there is a storm, we don’t really harvest anything. We still can’t eat for 3 days

The life we went through was very difficult, because the land that my mom bought was quite far from the house we lived in, we had to sleep on the land to relieve fatigue. What my dad did was he made a piece of wood so that we could sleep when we went to the farm. If you see it in person, you will really dream of the life that you have to work hard to rise in life and reach your dreams. The house that my dad built is really ugly, just a strong wind will destroy it, but I didn’t tell my dad that the house he built was ugly, but I just said in my mind that when the day comes, I will be able to help them and get out of poverty.

The land that my parents bought we planted anything like coconut, banana, rice, sweet potato, fruit trees, vegetables and many others. Do you know the hardships we went through in those days, it was really hard because that day my brothers and I were studying, what we did was to take turns because when you finished planting the land, you would have to wait before harvest so we stayed at the house where we live. Mom said that in the morning, my brother goes to the farm to take care of the animals, then he goes home to go to school, and in the afternoon, when I leave school, I go to the farm to take care of the animals and come home at night. . maybe I was in grade 5 and my brother was in grade 6. Our parents helped us go to the farm only once because they were looking for money to feed us every day so they were too tired to go to the farm.

How to I achieve the life

Do you know that we were bullied at school because we are bad smell and we didn’t have any dishes or rice to bring in our school but we brought a steam banana, so we could eat something at school. We didn’t even take a bath when we go to school because we were tired and we were going to be late. The uniforms we use were given by other parents just for us and the others were just borrowed by mom so we could wear school uniforms. We don’t even have money to bring to the school, which makes us jealous of our other classmates because he can buy food.

Did I enjoy my life when I was young?

I did enjoy my life when I was young, but not much because I was a child, I had a lot of work like going to the farm that was very far away and when I came home I would bring a banana that was very heavy so that we could eat at home. When I get home, I will clean and cook so that my siblings and I can eat. It’s very difficult especially when you see your friends enjoying playing and you have a lot of work to do, you want to join in case you have to finish the work you are doing first, until they are tired of playing and I haven’t finished my work .

What’s the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced in life?

There were so many, as I would see my mother crying because there was nothing to eat, sometimes she borrowed rice from another house so that we could eat, but they couldn’t lend us anything either.
Sometimes when there is a storm we get wet in the rain while sleeping so we huddle in a place where we don’t get wet.

How did I achieve being single at the age of 26. And what I went through in life

Sometimes I see mom doing a lot of work and I feel sad, because even though it’s very hot she works in the field so that when the time comes, we can harvest something. If you ask where my father is, he became a construction worker to earn money and buy food. The only person we always have with us in the field is our mother. I see mom is struggling a lot.

I became a senior high.

When my siblings and I were in senior high school, my parents decided to live on the hill they bought to take good care of the farm. My siblings and I were in a more difficult situation because we were so far away from school. We wake up very early to prepare what we take to school and we walk for over an hour to get to school. There are times when it rains, we have more difficulty because the road is very muddy and we have to cross the river that floods. What we do is we wait for the flood to subside before we cross. Did you know that we don’t use umbrellas, the only thing we use is banana leaves just so we don’t get wet. When we are at school we are very dirty because of the mud on the road we walk on.

There are also times in the summer when the weather is so hot that we feel dizzy walking because of the extreme heat. What we did was rest under a tree just to get rid of the tiredness. We don’t bring water to school because we don’t have a water container, what my brothers and I did was look for water on the road just to drink and quench our thirst, and what’s even worse when we get to school is that we stink because in sweat.

How is our study at senior high?

When we were studying in senior high, we didn’t learn much because when we got to school we were very tired because we had been walking for more than an hour. When there is a teacher teaching, we sleep.

Did we pass our school?

Unfortunately, because we didn’t understand much of our teacher’s teachings, we still passed. You know what we did to pass? we did everything our teacher said, we made a project and passed it to the teacher. What are these projects? it’s making a broom, cleaning the school and many other things our teachers make us do just so we can pass.

When did our lives begin to change?

Our life changed when I was in 4th year of high school because my father was elected as a councilor in the barangay. My father won the councilorship, he had a salary every month and the barangay still helps us, it’s called (4Ps Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program) it helps the poor. It is also one of those who help us when we are suffering in life.

In the same year we had electricity at home. our very dark house is now lit up. It used to be relatively cheap to install electricity in the house.

What happened when I graduated from high school?

When I graduated from high school, I only waited 2 months before I ventured to the city to work. My mom had an acquaintance who was looking for a maid, I said that I would be the one to work as a maid that time I was 16 years old. I lied to my former boss that I was 18 years old because here in the Philippines, if you are under 18, you are not allowed to work, but they accepted me because they knew that I was 18 years old.

Why didn’t I go to collage?

I didn’t go to collage because my parents didn’t have enough money to pay for collage school. I told them that when I save money I will study collage

What was my life in the City?

When I arrived in the City, I was really amazed by the buildings I saw. Because when I was a child, I didn’t even visit the City, so I didn’t know what it was like. There was a time when the driver of my future boss picked me up at the airport I was amazed at the car he was driving, it was a big Van, I didn’t even know how to open the car door he was drive.

What happened when I arrived at the house of my future boss?

I was surprised by the size of their house, maybe if you compare our house to their house it is too far because our house in the province is very ugly. As soon as you enter, you will see the big pool on the side of the house, you will be really jealous because our pool there is a river in Provence.
My job was not easy with my boss because I have a lot to do, you wake up at 6am and your break is at 1pm and you finish work at 8pm. They are kind so we do our job well for our boss.

Maybe I worked for them for almost 6 moths too, then I was transferred to one of my boss’s acquaintances. My new boss is kind, I stayed with them for a long time, maybe 2 years.

Until my new boss met his old acquaintance again, that’s when my life started to change. When they met again for the first time, they didn’t really know me yet. I was still a maid then. I was very thin and my skin was dark. My hair was very thin because I missed food. I looked different at that time. When my boss moved to a new house, he lived near his acquaintance, that’s when everything started.

What happened when we moved?

My boss’s friend’s friend is a very helpful and kind person. He’s different from the bosses I’ve met, he makes you feel that you’re special to him, he treats you as a friend and family, he’s also one of the ones who helped me move to a new job that’s not like a maid, I was so happy that day. I said to myself this is it!! this is where my family’s life started to get easier. When I started my new job, my salary increased, I was able to save and buy land in the province. Sometimes I send money to my parents just to eat in the city and taste what they have never eaten, I also send money to them every month. I also send money to our youngest sister and she is about to graduate a collage.

Last 2 months our oldest brother and I have our own business. I am very thankful to God that he sent someone to help me and change our lives.

I’m 26 years old right now, I don’t have a boyfriend and I have very few friends because I’m not really friendly because I’m focused on work. I also didn’t have a boyfriend when I studied because I prioritized getting out of the hardships of life. Right now, if someone comes that I know he will love me and take care of me, I might be ready to love.

Thank you for reading my life story.
