The ingredients that you can use to cook it is beef , Chicken, egg and mussel ( 홍합).
But today I will teach you how to cook the Korean Miyeok Guk that the mixture is beef because I don’t have any other ingredients at home but this only 🙂
Everything you want to mix into the soup tastes different, but everything is delicious. My favorite of all is the Beef Miyeok Guk because I can taste the beef in the broth mixed with it.
How to cook Korean Miyeok Guk ( Seaweed Soup )
The ingredients we will cook Miyeok Guk today.
- Dry Miyeok – Soak 1/2 ounce or 16 grams of dry Miyeok in cold water for 15 minutes.
- Small and thin cut of beef
- Seven cup of water
- Crushed garlic
- Korean soy sauce & fish sauce
- Salt / Dasida/sesame oil
I just bought this dry Miyeok Guk at a Korean store near us. There are different types that you can buy in the store.
You can only buy these ingredients at the Korean Store, but the garlic and meat are better to buy at the Market for cheaper.
How to cook it
When the Miyeok is soft, cut it into 3 slices so that it won’t be that big when it’s cooked.
My cooking style is that I first mix the beef with crushed garlic, pepper, and 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, before I stir-fry it. If the beef is a little brown, I’ll add the soft miyeok that I sliced earlier, and I’ll mix it again.
After stirring for 4 minutes, I added seven cups of water to it, and waited for it to boil. ( 10 minutes)
And when it boils, add 2 table spoons of fish sauce and 2 spoons of soy sauce. If the taste is not enough, add salt and half a spoon of “Dasida” this is a type of Korean spice. The last is sesame oil half a spoon
When it is good to your taste you can turn off the fire and serve your cooked Miyeok Guk.
