Spicy Cucumber Salad ( Oi Muchim )
Today I’m going to teach you how to make one of my favorite Korean salads, the Spicy Cucumber Salad, or Oi Muchim. I learned to make it about 2 years ago because of a Korean friend of mine who also likes to eat it.
It’s very tasty, guys, especially when you eat it, you will feel its crunchy, which makes it even more exciting to eat.
I am going to share with you a very easy recipe that I eat often. The cucumber that I usually choose is the one that is small and long and less seedy because it tastes better.
I’ve made it several times and they all said it was delicious ahaha who doesn’t enjoy fresh, crunchy and juicy every bite that makes it even more delicious.
This food is also super healthy which definitely helps your health when you eat fresh cucumber every day.

If you want to diet, this is one of the best foods because it is filling and good for your skin. Cucumber has many benefits for your body so keep eating it every day.
What are the ingredients?
- 2 English Cucumber – Cut it into small circles so it doesn’t get watery right away.
- 1 Round onion – slice it thinly
- 1 small carrot – for extra flavor, thinly sliced
- 4 Onion spring – Slice into three inches
- 3 garlic cloves – minced
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
- 1 Tea spoon of sugar
- 2 tea spoon of sesame oil & sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons of chilli powder
For those who don’t know the other ingredient, you can only buy it in the Korean market.
Directions
1.) Take a medium sized bowl and put the sliced cucumber in it.
2.) Add the carrot, onion, garlic chop, 2 tablespoons of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of white sugar, 2 table spoons of soy sauce and 1 spoon of fish sauce and mix well using plastic gloves.
3.) After mixing, taste first if it’s good to your taste and if it’s okay, add 2 teaspoons of sesame oil & sesame seeds and mix again and you can serve it.
Spicy Cucumber Salad ( Oi Muchim ) is very easy to make as long as you have the ingredients at home.
My only advice to you is that when you buy a cucumber, it is better to buy a fresh and hard because if the cucumber is soft and fat it will spoil quickly and become watery.
Spicy Cucumber Salad ( Oi Muchim )
There are many ways to make this salad. But I haven’t tried to do all of them or done most of them. I encourage you some more variations that are attractive to you.
You can add different vegetables to mix in Spicy Cucumber Salad such as rice vinegar, sweet onion. But keep the salad dressings the same.
In the photo I posted on the blog, there are different shapes of cucumber slices because you can cut the cucumber any way you like.
